Determination of permanent deformation of flexible pavements using finite element model

The unbound granular material used in flexible road pavements exhibits an elastoplastic behaviour under repetitive traffic loads. Permanent deformation occurring on pavement surface load is one of the main problems affecting performance. Therefore, many permanent models for calculating rutting have recently been developed by researchers. Most these studies involve performance dynamic triaxial tests. In this study, characteristics materials are determined using resonant column test. Then, instead determining total summing up calculated deformations obtained each layer, 2D axisymmetric finite element analyses performed four different cross sections to predict certain cycles. first modelled section consists natural aggregate. base and/or subbase remaining three steel slag waste material. versus cycle presented multi-layer semi logarithmic graphs. Finally, model equation their fitting curves.
